Mushpeak’s team includes two Dutch owners who are available 16 hours a day to help and communicate with their team, customer support staff based in the Philippines, and partnerships with various third-party companies.
In this role, you will:
Design and implement visually appealing, responsive, and user-friendly website templates from scratch.
Fine-tune typography, color schemes, and spacing to ensure consistent visual appeal and readability across their sites.
Conduct detailed design analysis, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements.
Create comprehensive wireframes, user flows, and mockups to guide the design process.
Develop WooCommerce templates from scratch (child themes) to ensure they are visually appealing and responsive on various screen sizes.
Design multi-screen size illustrations to ensure their site looks exceptional on all devices.
Regularly test and enhance website design, keeping it visually appealing and up-to-date with the latest web design trends.
Collaborate closely with the design and content teams to maintain a consistent visual and written narrative across all platforms.
Proactively address design and technical issues, proposing improvements or alternatives to enhance visual appeal and usability.
Onboarding Process
Upon joining the team, you will undergo an onboarding process. This will include a 2-3 day training period with the company’s current Back-End developer and the company owners.
During this time, you will become familiar with their existing projects, workflows, and team dynamics. The team will work closely with you to ensure a smooth transition into your role.
This role begins as part-time with a likely transition into a full-time position in the near future. All additional hours worked during the part-time phase will be fairly compensated.
The working schedule is flexible, with working hours between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Dutch time. Given that website updates often occur on weekends, you and your team members are sometimes expected to be available during these times to address any urgent tasks or site improvements.
Requirements
In order to thrive in this role, you need to have:
Proven experience as a Front-End Web Designer or in a similar role.
Proficiency in web design, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and basic PHP.
Strong understanding of responsive design principles and the ability to create designs that work well on all screen sizes.
Experience with WordPress and WooCommerce.
Basic programming skills and knowledge of design tools.
The ideal candidate should have:
Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within a remote team and with designers and content creators.
Strong problem-solving skills and creativity.
