We are looking for a talented Growth Marketing Intern in the Netherlands to add to our young and enthusiastic Marketing Team. The perfect candidate should possess a genuine interest in various aspects of digital marketing and a passion for facilitating a company‘s expansion by attracting and retaining customers through various channels. Please note: while Alumio is an international company with offices around the world, this internship that we’re offering is specifically for our Netherlands, Groningen office.

This internship can be structured as a work placement internship or a graduation internship. The candidate is expected to work at least 3 days a week.

Please note that the following responsibilities/tasks give a general overview and will be specified at the start of the internship. You’ll work closely together with our Marketing Team during the internship.

• Assisting in conducting SEO audits of the website to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
• Conducting research to identify relevant keywords and phrases that potential customers are using in search engines.
• Contributing to the optimization of SEO aspects of website pages including website speed optimization, mobile-friendliness, and crawlability.
• Collaborating with our content creators to ensure that website content is SEO-friendly and aligns with keyword strategies, optimizing selected keywords, meta tags, and headers for improved search engine rankings.
• Exploring link-building strategies, including outreach to acquire high-quality backlinks from reputable websites.
• Analyzing competitors' websites and SEO strategies to identify opportunities and best practices.
• Gaining familiarity with Google Analytics to track website traffic and user behavior, and use data to make informed decisions and Google Search Console to monitor website performance in search results and address any issues.
• Assisting in creating SEO performance reports, including key metrics like organic traffic, keyword rankings, and click-through rates.
• Staying up-to-date with SEO trends, algorithm changes, and best practices through industry blogs and resources.

Requirements

• Is enrolled at an academic institution (at WO, HBO, or MBO level).
• Has a degree in marketing, digital marketing, business, communications, or a related field.
• Has excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Understands fundamental SEO concepts such as keyword research, on-page optimization, off-page optimization, and SEO analytics.
• Is familiar with tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO software for data analysis and reporting.
• Has basic knowledge of on-page SEO techniques, including optimizing title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, and content for search engines.
• Has affinity with link-building strategies and the ability to identify opportunities for backlinks from authoritative sources.
• Has strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with team members and reporting on SEO performance.
• Posesses solid research skills and a high level of attention to detail to ensure that SEO strategies are executed accurately.
• Is able to identify SEO issues and develop solutions to improve search rankings and organic traffic.
• Has a genuine interest in SEO and a willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in the field.

While an SEO Marketing Intern may not be expected to be an expert in all these areas, having a strong foundation in these skills and a willingness to learn and grow is essential for success in the role. This internship is intended as a learning experience, so some flexibility in meeting these requirements may be acceptable depending on the candidate’s level of expertise
