Duties and Role:
Overall duties are to provide AV/VTC expertise and continuous support in delivering AV/VTC services to the customer, across 2 main locations.
- Provides expertise on assessing customer requirements for future evolution and enhancements.
- Supports Operations and Exercise Section alongside other local Technical Support teams in build-up, deployment and tear-down activities related to exercises.
- Assists in planning of local exercise requirements.
Ad-Hoc events support:
- Coordinates all AV/VTC requirements in relation to set up, deployment and tear-down activities related to events and conferences.
- Works with CSU Change Coordinators, Plans and Projects Section and local technical teams to assess customer requirements and provide response to customer requests.
Project Support:
- Assist in site surveys.
- Assist in arranging access and initial escorting of Project staff and contractors on site.
- Attend meetings in area of responsibility, and support peers and management as needed.
- Assist logisticians by receiving and storing CIS equipment and controlling access to it.
Requirements
Skill, Knowledge amp; Experience:
- The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
- Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 2 years post-related experience. Or a secondary educational qualification with 4 years post-related experience
- In-depth knowledge of a diverse range of AV hardware and software including but not limited to monitor clusters, displaying devices, AV connectors and cabling, splitters and adapters, different types of AV matrixes hardware controllers and controlling software, transmission standards, AV networking solutions (e.g. Dante). Experience with distribution of TV channels over IP.
- Installation and configuration of all related IP-TV network devices.
- In-depth experience on VTC equipment installation such as endpoints, VTC physical codecs and real presence apps.
- Knowledge on LAN WAN architecture, conferencing bridges and booking procedures.
- In depth experience on providing hands-on technical assistance and maintenance on AV and VTC equipment
- Experience in NATO static and deployable AV, VTC equipment and networks.
- Experience of working in an international organisation
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes and procedures (incident,change, configuration and asset management minimum ITIL v3 foundation certification
- Working knowledge of ITSM ticketing tools (BMC Remedy)
- Working knowledge working with MS Office tools (word/ excel)
