The Team

As Junior Financial Controller, you will join the Business Support Team and report directly to the Finance Manager. The team consists of 6 additional members: Group CFO, Junior Business Controller, Business Controller, Finance Analyst, Legal amp; Compliance Manager, and Operations amp; HR Manager. Furthermore, the team receives support from 3 working students, focusing on billing and other finance-related tasks.

The Finance Team continuously seeks opportunities to improve its systems and methods, develop new ways to monitor data, and communicate the company’s financial results to all stakeholders. In addition to considering areas for optimization, the Finance Team stays up to date about new regulations and accounting standards and actively shares knowledge of new developments within the global organization.

The role

You work closely together with the Finance Manager and you will handle and support the execution of tasks related to the financial administration. You would monitor, give guidance, and handle the day-to-day accounting, payroll and tax-specific activities. Having a good understanding of all aspects of the accounting and financial reporting requirements, GRESB expects you to be proactive in initiating process improvements. You must have the affinity to work with large and complex data and produce scalable outputs to support the strategic growth of the company.

Requirements

  • Master degree in eg Finance, Accountancy, Economics or Business Administration
  • 1-2 years of experience in Audit and/or Accounting, preferably in an international (equity-backed) environment
  • Candidates without working experience have at least worked as an intern or working student in a finance/accounting domain
  • (Strong) knowledge of Excel. Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools is a plus.
  • Solid technical finance background; able to understand the core financial processes, do the financial sanity check and build mature, scalable outputs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an eye for detail
  • Approachable personality, detail-oriented, attentive, good team player, comfortable with changing environments and excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Must possess the right to work in the EU (non-EU applicants must already have a Dutch working permit)
