Duties and Role:
Under the direction/guidance of a technical lead the software developer will develop and maintain JCHAT software modules.
The software developer will perform the following activities:
- Develop/test JCHAT client software components
- Develop JCHAT online help and update design documentation
- Support the automate JCHAT software integration and deployment to the test platform.
- Develop/test FFT services.
- Develop/test FFT Test Tool.
- Review, validate and test the FFT standards
- Contribute to the FFT Architecture
- Deputise for NCIA staff at the exercises planning conferences and at the exercises execution.
Requirements
Skill, Knowledge amp; Experience:
- The candidate has relevant and recent experience on Friendly Force Tracking (FFT) standards and related implementation, validation and test.
- The candidate has relevant and recent experience on Joint Chat (JCHAT) standards and related implementation, validation and test.
- The candidate has relevant and recent experience in designing FFT operational network and in debug the FFT network communications.
- The candidate has relevant and recent experience in chairing NATO workgroups.
- The candidate has relevant and recent experience in using XMPP (configure servers, develop clients).
- The candidate has relevant and recent experience in implementing the NATO security marking and binding standards (ADatP-4774 and ADatP-4778)
- The candidate has experience in implementing NATO Core Data Framework (NCDF) Data Lake API.
- The candidate has relevant and recent experience in system and software design and development of Graphical User Interface using Java.
- The candidate has relevant and recent experience in using JDBC.
- The candidate has relevant and recent experience in using development tools (e.g. Maven, Jira, TestRail) and methodologies (e.g. Agile).
- The candidate has relevant and recent experience in documenting source code and design, online help.
- The candidate has relevant and recent experience in continuous software integration and automated deployment on Windows, Linux and Solaris platforms.
- The candidate is able to speak and write fluent English since the work is conducted in English
- The candidate has a NATO SECRET security clearance, provided by the national security organization valid at the time of submission of the bid covering the period of the requirement.
- The candidate must have the nationality of one of the NATO nations.
