What is the project about?
Join the team as a Java DevOps Engineer and immerse yourself in cutting-edge technologies. Your mission is to deliver reusable, maintainable, and secure solutions aligned with the clients architectural principles. Collaborate with your team to swiftly provide valuable IT components in the Netherlands’ most challenging networks, focusing on security, maintainability, availability, stability, and quality. As a Java DevOps Engineer you’re responsible for driving the automation around building and releasing software components and continuously improving the way of working. The team operate according to an Agile Scrum development process and strongly believe in the DevOps approach to delivering IT solutions. Their focus is on high-quality software delivered continuously using iterative development.
Responsibilities
- Programming/Backend development: Craft and maintain clean code, guiding fellow developers toward highquality IT. Constantly enhance code for improved quality, scalability, and maintainability;
- Solution Design: Translate intricate network business requirements into adaptable IT4TI solutions;
- Documentation and Communication: Provide thorough documentation and engaging demos for stakeholders;
- DevOps Activities: Engage in CI/CD, Docker, Testing, Monitoring, and operations. Required Skills and Experience.
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s/Masters Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related Engineering courses.
- Senior Java experience (11+) and proficiency in frameworks like Spring 5+.
- Proficient in object-oriented principles, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Capability to independently manage and set up CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in cloud and container technologies such as Docker (K8S or OpenShift).
- Ability to translate customer needs into IT designs.
- Hands-on experience with complex enterprise technology; advantageous if familiar with the Telco industry.
- Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming.
- Knowledge of Ansible.
- Proactively approaches tasks with an automation mindset.
- Willingness to receive and provide feedback during code reviews, fostering a mutual learning environment.
- Enjoys discussing Java and actively coaches peers on best practices.
Some other technologies you might work with / Nice to have:
- Front-end development experience is a plus;
- Knowledge or interest in Jenkins, AWS, Test Driven Development, Kafka and Neo4J.
