Application Administrator

Job Description
We currently have a vacancy for an Application Administrator fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in The Hague, Netherlands. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.
Your tasks
- Performing application installation, configuration, monitoring, performance tuning, continuous improvement of the efficiency and quality of service and administration in production and non-production environments;
- Performing applications support and maintenance activities such as incident, change, release and problem resolution;
- Writing and validating application procedures manuals, including troubleshooting guides, backup and restore plans;
- Automate administrative procedures for recurring system administration activities and provide installation and technical support documentation where required;
- Contributing to the structuring, maintenance and development of the technical knowledgebase supporting the ICT Operations activities.
Requirements
- University degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 6 years of experience working as an IT professional in mid/large IT infrastructure environments, including deployment, support and maintenance of applications;
- Minimum 5 years of experience working as an IT professional in the area of application administration;
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with enterprise Microsoft or Linux server solutions;
- Minimum 2 years of experience with micro-services, container orchestration and container-based stacks, such as Docker or Kubernetes;
- Minimum 2 years of experience administering and supporting ElasticSearch, as well as good knowledge of the deployment and administration of ElasticSearch clusters;
- Good knowledge of micro-services, container orchestration and container-based stacks using Kubernetes, Helm charts and Rancher;
- Good knowledge of configuration management concepts and technologies, such as Puppet, Ansible and Chocolatey;
- Good knowledge of Shell and/or PowerShell scripting;
- Good knowledge of ITIL, including the incident, change and release management processes;
- Good knowledge of DevOps and relational databases, such as MS SQL and PostgreSQL and how they interact with applications;
- Excellent command of the English language.
