Job Description
We are seeking a Professional Services Consulting Engineer to deliver Cloud Engineering consulting services into Rackspace’s Enterprise and SME clients. The ideal candidate will have strong, hands on technical skills, with the experience and consulting skills to understand, shape and deliver against our customers’ requirements.You’ll be a strong technical expert, with experience leading complex projects from inception to delivery. You’ll have experience working in a consulting role, leading multiple junior engineers to deliver automated, secure and robust cloud infrastructure solutions. You’re happy to get involved in all levels of technical discussions, from architecture to hands on coding. A good grounding in infrastructure technology is highly advantageous, as is a programming background. - Minimum 3+ years of hands-on cloud experience, 1+ year Azure experience.
- Must have experience building cloud automation, including CD/CI pipelines using technologies equivalent to Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Docker, AzureDevOps, Powershell.
- Build and manage our client's Azure foundation platform to enable application deployments
- Working experience with Linux would be advantageous as would GCP
- Engineer solutions on our client's Azure foundation platform using Infrastructure-as-Code methods (e.g. Terraform)
- Integrate, configure, deploy and manage centrally provided common cloud services (e.g. IAM, networking, monitoring, Operating systems, Containers.)
- Manage Azure connectivity and networking e.g. Express Route, DNS, IP allocation and traffic routing, NSG’s and Azure Firewall
- Ensure compliance with Security and Operational risk standards (E.g. Network, Firewall, OS, Logging, Monitoring, Availability, Resiliency)
- Build and support continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD) and continuous testing activities, support non-functional testing
- Update support and operational documentation as required
- Fault find and support Applications teams
- Maintain and advance deep technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights, and share within the technical community
- Develop and promote the reuse of patterns
- Be an Azure Platform evangelist with customers, partners and external communities
- Provide Management reporting to ensure data driven discussions for continuous improvement
- Gather requirements and provide continuous feedback loops between Security and the wider Azure Cloud Services team
