Job Description

The Sales Engineer is responsible for partnering with a global Sales team to accelerate deals and drive the win rate by explaining complex technical functionality to non-technical clients. Your job is to make the complex simple and the unclear clear. The primary responsibility is to understand the overall strategic and technical scope of new business opportunities with prospects/customers then to craft EdCast solutions designed to maximize long-term ROI for the customer and EdCast. You will present to prospects/customers and support technical responses to RFPs/RFIs. In some cases, you will need to design, create, and conduct demos of a complex technical suite. The ideal Sales Engineer is part business analyst, part technologist, and part strategic consultant.


To be a successful Sales Engineer you will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple opportunities supporting digital transformation initiatives. It is important to understand how cloud technology solves business problems, is aligned to our prospects’ digital and learning strategies, and to communicate the business value to prospects. A Sales Engineer needs to have a solid understanding of:

  • SAML amp; OAuth based SSO; ideally, hands-on experience with Azure AD, Okta, etc
  • RESTful APIs and how these may be applied
  • CSV data file preparation
  • Preparation and presentation of data flow diagrams


Responsabilities:

  • Become an EdCast subject matter expert and thought leader, both internally and externally, to drive the business value of EdCast solutions.
  • Support and lead large-scale enterprise transactions as a Solution Consultant by using industry knowledge and understanding to move deals forward.
  • Be an expert to determine technical and functional requirements, ensuring that all necessary information is collected and organized prior to producing a solution.
  • Present and explain technical and strategic concepts to prospects so that they understand the business impact of proposed solutions.
  • Know about Lamp;D and HRIS integrations
  • Gather customer technical requirements for review and development of the customer strategy
  • Work closely with the sales and other cross-functional teams on proposals, pitches, RFPs, business cases, etc. This includes in-person and virtual demos, deep-dives and workshops.
  • Use storytelling skills to paint a picture of a future state employing EdCast solutions that helps prospects and customers achieve their desired goals
  • Navigate and interface with complex, international, Global 2000 companies, often highly matrixed in their organizational structure
  • Proactively maintain high-level of knowledge about the product and customer industries
  • Responsible for technical handover between pre- and post-sales
  • Stay abreast of trends in learning and development, talent development, and human capital.

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 4 - 6 years of experience in a customer-facing engineering role
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent mastery
  • Ability to craft and deliver a compelling message tailored for the audience
  • An understanding of LTI amp; xAPI (optional)
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems such as Workday, SuccessFactors
  • Experience with LMS systems such as Cornerstone, Saba, SumTotal among others
  • Prior experience with HR systems integration
  • Strong notions of accountability and ownership of mission
  • Autonomous and able to work virtually in 3 different regions of the world
  • Culturally sensitive to clients and colleagues
  • Previous experience in SaaS companies is highly preferred


Hard Skills:

  • G-Suite and/or Microsoft applications
  • Understanding of cloud-based technical solutions
  • A good understanding of SAML amp; OAuth based SSO
  • Hands-on experience with Azure AD, Okta etc
  • Experience working with SQL databases such as MySQL
  • Postgres to write complex queries
  • Good knowledge of REST amp; SOAP Web Service standards
  • Experience of working with JIRA to create amp; track issues
