The position:Do you have a proven track record of designing and shipping user experiences and products? Are you a thoughtful creator who is passionate about user interactions, skilled at crafting interfaces, and able to shape an entire project from start to finish? We are looking for an ambitious and creative Product Designer to join the Frontend Group in Rotterdam.
Responsibilities:As a Product Designer you are responsible for creating delightful and elegant human-centered product and service experiences. You are involved in every user experience related aspect of the product development process, from contributing concepts to the next product innovation to the visual and interaction designs of our products. Your input is used to take the user and developer experience to the next level in our journey of having the most loved low code platform.
Frontend group:In the Frontend group we are responsible for building great end-user experiences from design time to runtime for web, mobile and augmented reality. You will be involved in elevating Mendix as a multi-experience platform and taking end-user amp; developer experience to the next level.Topics range from designing a low code user interface for mobile app building to creating a fully fledged UI kit for our design framework.You’ll be working with developers, service designers, product managers, user researchers and stakeholders to create delightful and elegant user experiences.
Design team:The Design team is a distributed team across Boston, Pune, Shanghai and Rotterdam, with many disciplines. From user experience research and service design to brand and product design, the Mendix design team is filled with creatives focused on elevating the user experience across our products. The team is always exploring new ways to be creative and tinkering with new technologies or techniques. We believe that collaboration is the key to our success.Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience as a product designer
- Demonstrated experience designing enterprise solutions
- A proven track record of shipped products with a strong graphic design sensibility
- Able to create novel solutions for hard usability problems
- Must be highly skilled in Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Invision, and other design tools
- Self-motivated, able to work independently but also collaborative and driven by group critique
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to challenge others with creative ideas to get the best results
- Ability to communicate design concept ideas through sketches, prototypes and wireframes
- Experience designing for web, Android and iOS
- Experience creating and working with a design system
