Job Description
From a broad understanding of the related vehicle properties, functions and program, devise innovative concepts of the vehicle layout that better measures the current and future wishes of the customer.
Activities include:
• Developing a future vehicle concept vision, on the basis of thorough knowledge of the various possible solution directions, including the current state of technology as practiced by competitors in the market.
• The following main activities are often tackled in a team context, whereby the Vehicle Architect has a coordinating role and an overview.
- Conducting preliminary studies, feasibility studies and drawing up technical specifications and approval and rejection criteria
- Drawing up complex 3D designs and developing them into final designs and drawings.
- Coming up with innovative solutions for technical problems and incorporating these into the designs. For developments within DAF as well as at suppliers.
• Taking into account the manufacturability, mountability, service friendliness, quality and reliability of a vehicle design.
• Supervising prototype manufacturing and taking care of test work
• Making calculations to support the developed design principles and designs.
Requirements
Desired skills and experience
• HBO / TU training in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Automotive sector.
• Passion for technique and perseverance.
• Proactive attitude and good ability to translate customer needs into concrete technical solutions.
• Masters the Dutch and English language.
• Experience with CAD (NX) and other common engineering tools
• Analytically strong.
• Initiative, enthusiastic, leadership skills.
• Separate main and side issues properly.
• Solution-oriented, pragmatic, with a sense of practice.
• Open to the ideas of others, team player.
• Representative and presentation skills.
• Strong communication skills, easy to report and present.
