Scientist Process Chemistry
The Position
The Scientist Process Chemistry will work in a dynamic lab environment together with other Scientists and Technology Manufacturing Advisors on technology development, technical support and agile technology transfer for Centrient’s manufacturing sites in The Netherlands, Spain, China, Mexico and India. The Scientist Process Chemistry will also be responsible for initiating and leading Ramp;D activities for potential improvement of Centrient’s technology platform for production of sustainable antibiotics. The position has a strong emphasis on lab activities, primarily in the Delft lab but travelling to research facilities of manufacturing sites is also expected.
The main activities and responsibilities
- Designs and executes lab research activities focusing on process and technology development for all Centrient products and process.
- Support manufacturing sites by closely collaborating with the Technology amp; Manufacturing Advisors and regional Samp;PT teams.
- Actively proposes and initiates early stage technological projects for potential improvement and cost reduction of Centrient processes.
- Provide Scientific support to Science amp; Process Technology community and Manufacturing Sites in the area of industrial Chemistry.
- Set-up, guides and collaborates with external research and academic organizations.
- Actively maintains a scientific network and keeps track of new scientific developments.
- Identifies patent opportunities.
- Ensure that all activities comply with legal regulatory requirements and company QESH (Quality, Environment, Safety and Health) policy.
The Ideal Candidate
- Academic (MSc) level in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Chemical Technology.
- Relevant experience as process technologist in pharma or specialty chemicals.
- Experience with implementation of Ramp;D results in large scale production facilities.
- Project Management skills and excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under own initiative but also collaboratively with internal and external peers, managers and teams.
- Result oriented, independent, pragmatic with a can-do attitude and someone who likes to suggest new approaches when needed.
- Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to work in diverse cultural environments
