Support Engineer

As a Support Engineer you provide support to the Engineering department regarding technical issues, mainly electrically related. You provide functional and technical specifications together with a technical team. The Support Engineer is a part of the Electrical Engineering team and reports directly to the Lead Engineer Electrical.

Job objectives:

• Where applicable you create production drawings and dimensional sketches including BOM’s and setting lists.
• You support the team and other departments in solving electrical engineering related issues.
• You search, assess, develop and write test protocols for electrical problems, you create and work out concepts, sketch solutions and define preferred specification.
• You proactively monitor and review the progress and quality of the work according project or department plan with fellow engineers and report to the lead engineer in order to meet specified deliverables.
• You support in making technical specifications and basic configurations for peripheral equipment and make sure these are aligned with the electrical drawing package.
• You are a part of the design team in the development of panel designs.
• You act as an independent technical sparring partner for Engineers.
• You support the Product Engineers, and if necessary act as an substitute for a Product Engineer.
• Assisting in electrical design improvement, as well as being involved in service related issues.
• You provide instructions to the Draughtman.
• You provide 1st line technical support to the Project Engineers during the execution of projects.
• You provide 1st line technical support to the Product and (international) Application Engineers during the execution of projects.
• You take part in development projects as a project team member on a call-up basis.
• You review and discuss the drawings and technical information with fellow engineers (Electrical Specialists, Draughtsman).
• You discuss options for standardisation with fellow engineers.
• You discuss the progress and quality of the work with the Lead Engineer, additionally you answer technical questions from other departments.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from a university of applied science (HBO)
• You can work with MS Office.
• You can speak, read and write English and preferably Dutch.
• You are familiar with and have experience with low and high voltage systems.
• You have an affinity for mechanical engineering, control engineering and UPS systems.
