Technical Retail Hospitality Designer
UXUS, Netherlands

For our office in Amsterdam, The Netherlands we are looking for a Technical Retail and Hospitality designer to join our Team.

You wil be part of one of our creative teams, and will work alongside and support the retail / interior design team to detail built environments, exteriors and interiors, including working on various scale projects that use architectural principles and technical/detailing skills.

You’ll be articulate, assertive, self-motivated and enthusiastic with good design skills and understand construction principles, with a focus on interior detailing. Experience in the retail and/or restaurant/hospitality sector is required, including fixture design amp; prototyping as well as experience in designing floor plans, custom furniture, specifying FFamp;E, materials and colors.

You will have experience working with 3d Modelling tools (Rhino amp; Vray) to create visual representations of enviroments.

This is a full time employment position (40 hours /week) , starting with a determined period contract, with the intention of building a long lasting work relationship. In order to be eligible forthis position you must be eligible to work in the Netherlands or already be in possession of a EU work permit and full relocation to the Netherlands will be required.

Depending on COVID developments, it is possible that the chosen candidate will work remotely from their residence in the Netherlands until all workforce resumes to work from the office again.

Main Responsibilities:

• Support evolving concept designs through various phases of development
• Depending on the scope of work, responsibilities can include to:

1. Schematic Design
2. Design development drawings
3. Construction (Design Intent) Documents
4. Minor Prototype Review and pilot coordination (sometimes including bidding and construction follow-up support to Project Management team)
5. Designing from scratch Exterior Architectural/ Product elements which support an overall creative conceptModelling architectural exterior environments (in rhino amp; vray)
6. Modelling architectural exterior environments (in rhino amp; vray)

Requirements

• Architectural Degree

• 4-5 years experience, in preparing retail / interior drawings
• High technical skills with attention to detail
• Fluent in metric and imperial
• Experience working amp; supporting a team of designers
• Experience in retail and/or restaurant/hospitality sector
• Experience dealing directly with 3rd party consultants such as Lighting Designer, MEP and structural engineer.
• Experience with creating 3D visualizations
• Enthusiastic and comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team environment

• Proficient in AUTOCAD
• Fluent in Adobe InDesign amp; Photoshop
• Fluent in Rhino amp; vray Software
• Strong evidence in the CV of technical detailing

• Team player
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment within tight deadlines
• Confident in working on international projects
• Being reliable, able to follow through and complete tasks, prepared to go the extra mile
• Excellent command of English language (our company language) written and spoken.
