In September 2020 we acquired a Swedish-based company called Buzzador. Buzzador was founded in 2005. It is a company that works to create buzz about products on social media and get consumers to write honest reviews about products on selected websites.

In this role you are reporting directly to our Finance Director. You are providing comprehensive financial updates to the FD by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting. Next to this, you are working on setting up and improving several essential processes and procedures within the revenue, expenditure or financing cycle.

As a Finance and Accounting Manager, you are a part of the International Finance Team. The international finance team is responsible for ensuring correct financial procedures and reports for the Stars and Stories group (a global operating organization with 8 entities and growing). Because we are currently experiencing rapid growth in our scale-up phase, our departments are going through changes and process improvements as well as new software implementations. You will get the chance to experience this new era of business at Stars and Stories and have an impact by making your ideas heard. We want someone open-minded and eager to learn who can think outside the box.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate Dutch GAAP standards and regulatory requirements;
• Maintain and optimize internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures;
• In conjunction with the Finance Director, establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis;
• Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all legal entities, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards.

• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results;

• Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements;

• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes;

• Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed;

• Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance.

Requirements

• BSc. degree in accounting or finance;
• 7 years experience in a finance position within an international environment;
• You have experience with Exact online;
• You have experience with (international) VAT declarations;
• You have experience with maintaining and creating financial reports;
• You have (preferably) experience within an international Scale up organization;
• You have the ability to adopt and scale within the organizational growth.
