As UI/UX Designer, you design our mobile-first software application. Embedded into the cross-functional product team, you drive the design process for new and existing features. Your strong understanding of different UX disciplines will contribute to helping marginalized job seekers to reach their goals.
Your team
You are part of SkillLab’s growing Product Team:
- Ragnar leads the Product Team and manages our product workflow. You will closely work with and directly report to him.
- Gaspar, Jesus and Victor are SkillLab’s software engineers
- Upeksha is our Data Scientist
- Beatriz is our UX Researcher
- Azza supports the user research in her role as Customer Success and Reporting Specialist.
- Norma is our freelance visual designer
Requirements
What you will do! (Responsibilities)
- Lead the design process from start to finish
- Own and expand our current design System
- Create UI designs and prototypes for testing and development
- Design interfaces, user-flows and information hierarchies that create an emotionally rewarding and motivating user experience
- Review and critique implemented designs
- Pay close attention to UX analytics and user research insights to inform your designs
- Plan UX/UI priorities with the Product Manager and UX Researcher
- Constantly improve the usability and user experience of our app
Is this you?

- You have empathy to relate to our multicultural user base including job seekers from around the world
- You have 5+ years of experience working as UX/UI role on a consumer-facing product
- You are a team player, while also being able to work autonomously
- You feel comfortable working with Figma in a collaborative way
- You are are open to feedback and ready to integrate it into design iterations
- You have experience in designing complex user flows, decision-support systems, framework-level interactions or reward systems
- You have strong English communication skills
Extra awesome:
- You have experience working with interaction design principles and are able to design solutions beyond the visual interface
- You have experience with gamification
- You have experience working with product analytics software such as Mixpanel
- You are familiar with agile development practices
- You have experience with accessibility frameworks and standards
