Pearl Abyss the company behind the highly acclaimed MMORPG Black Desert Online (BDO) - is seeking a high-performing, innovative, results-oriented Marketing Manager for its European Publishing Office to accelerate growth and reach millions of players across all platforms (PC, Mobile, Console, etc.).
As a Marketing Manager, you'll work with publishing and development teams to build Marketing plans and activation strategies that resonate with European players.
You will grow and maintain the European player base with creative marketing plans, barter activations and develop a performance-based player acquisition plan.
You will join a lean but dedicated team working across multiple communities, platforms and games such as Black Desert, Shadow Arena and upcoming releases such as Crimson Desert, DokeV and PLAN 8.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the game studio and functional marketing leads to develop and execute integrated marketing plans for both active and pre-production games.
- Work closely with game teams to provide detailed marketing forecasts and management presentations on a daily, weekly and quarterly basis.
- Identify value propositions and key messages that bond the right players to our games.
- Write creative briefs for internal teams or external agencies to ensure all teams produce best in class creatives which are consistent across all channels and resonates with our players.
- Create internal User Acquisition Marketing strategies, including planning, efficiency analyses and execution phases.
- Ensure goals and incentives are aligned across all teams including game studio, platform partnerships, marketing creative, lifecycle, paid acquisition, social and app store/SEO optimization.
- Make recommendations on funnel optimization, flow development, efficiency improvements and overall budgeting and targeting.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in (GaaS) video games marketing with a shown background of success and results
- Solid understanding of marketing best practices.
- Experience working with live operations products across a variety of platforms (PC, Xbox, PlayStation, iOS and Android).
- Working with consumer insights, positioning, go to market plans and overseeing execution.
- Deep understanding of free-to-play acquisition, retention and monetization key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Willingness to investigate and improve marketing attribution challenges.
- Experience in - and desire to- performing day-to-day execution and optimization activities.
- Strong influencing skills; effective cross-functional driver.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multitask more than one project at the same time.
- English language capabilities of C1 or higher (reading, writing and speaking).
- Korean language capabilities are a plus.
