You are based in our Eindhoven office and are part of the engineering team. You own software testing and verification for Bloomlife medical devices. You cover our entire software stack including embedded software, mobile and cloud.
You get involved early in the design cycle. You ensure testability of product requirements. You take an active role in defining test and verification strategy. You translate this strategy in software test cases, test protocols and verification plans. You execute them diligently. You think strategically about testing and set up automated testing where it improves efficiency. You interact with developers on a daily basis to shorten the loop between development and testing. You follow agile development, and define sprints in close collaboration with product and engineering leads to quickly iterate and improve the product. You ensure that product releases live up to our high quality standards.
Your responsibilities:
- You own software testing and verification for our software stack
- You work alongside product, QA and engineering to define testable requirements and detailed test specifications
- You create software test plans, test cases and test protocols that cover all software requirements
- You execute tests and document them in verification reports
- You analyze test results, detect issues and report them in the defect management tracking tool
- You write test scripts and set-up automated testing when and where necessary
- You follow-up with developers on issues that needs to be fixed and work collaboratively to resolve them
Requirements
You’re a passionate software verification engineer and care to put your skills to work on developing products that impact people’s lives. You have experience testing software for medical devices or other regulated products.
You are a world-class bug finder. You’re proud of your tests and make a point to cover all corners and edge cases. You’re a hands-on tester and don’t fear to dive into manual testing for things that can’t be automated (yet). You are on top of the latest testing techniques and platforms. You’re curious. You embrace new challenges and challenge the status quo. You work fast without compromising on quality.
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- Background in computer science, software engineering or equivalent through experience
- 5+ year experience in software verification or testing within an Agile or similar development environment
- Experience writing test cases, test protocols and test plans for embedded, mobile and cloud systems
- Experience with end-to-end testing of IoT devices
- Experience with scripting languages (Python and/or JavaScript)
Additionally, it will help to have:
- Experience with IEC 62304 standard for medical device software
- Experience with automated hardware/software testing and/or DevOps
- Experience with Linux
- Shipped commercial products
