Job Summary

For our office in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, UXUS is seeking a mid-senior level Creative Strategistwith specialties in experiential strategy, future of retail and customer journey mapping.

As part of our multidisciplinary creative team, you will work with 3D designers, graphic designers, creative technologists and visualizers to re-imagine the future of customer experiences, from fashion, luxury and tech to healthcare, mobility and hospitality.

Your main role is to be the ambassador of the customer and the future. You uncover unique customer insights and opportunities and translate them into powerful big ideas that help brands build meaningful emotional connections with their audiences.

As a strategist, you are forward-thinking and inherently curious, always on the pulse of cultural movements, new lifestyle attitudes and behaviors, and emerging trends. You are a natural storyteller who can intuitively connect ideas together into a compelling red thread that flows across the entire customer experience. You know how to translate inspiring and progressive ideas and consumer values into commercially viable brand experiences that create a positive impact. Ultimately, your main responsibility is to own the why of all the projects, both for the end customer and the brands we are working with.

Together with our multidisciplinary teams you will collaborate with the world’s biggest brands across diverse industries to reimagine their vision into emotive experiences that redefine categories.


This position reports to the Strategy Director and you will be joining a team of 2 Strategists .

This is a full time employment position (40 hours /week) , starting with a determined period contract, with the intention of building a long lasting work relationship.

Full relocation to the Netherlands will be required for this role.

Ideal Start Date : 1 October 2021

Depending on COVID developments, it is possible that the chosen candidate will work remotely from their residence in the Netherlands until all workforce resumes to work from the office again.



Responsibilities

  • Craft the retail vision including the big idea, experience narratives and principles
  • Identify relevant consumer insights and behaviors; understand and connect insights to business needs
  • Uncover relevant trends, cultural and societal shifts, and in-and-out of category best practices including competitor analysis
  • Assess the clients’ current retail experiences and customer journeys identifying pain-points and opportunities
  • Interpret and clarify the clients’ existing customer research and voice of the customer data into simple and actionable insights to guide our projects
  • Define customer personas or archetypes, and customer missions
  • Work collaboratively with designers and creative technologists on in-depth customer journey mapping and creative touchpoint ideation
  • Define the storytelling, messaging and communication hierarchy and touchpoints in collaboration with graphic designers
  • Create a clear and inspiring presentations for all projects with a consistent and easy to understand storyline backed by insights
  • Present the work to the clients in engaging and inspiring ways
  • Prepare and carry out creative workshops with clients in collaboration with other strategists and designers
  • Create and carry out stakeholder interviews and questionnaires
  • Create post-workshop debrief documents; develop enriched creative briefs after initial immersion and discovery project phases

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years creative strategy experience is a must (within design or retail industry is a plus)
  • Good understanding of customer experience tools and frameworks
  • Experienced in developing customer journeys
  • Strong knowledge and curiosity about current and future culture
  • Excellent storytelling and writing skills; able to create inspiring and compelling client presentations
  • Strong intercultural awareness and ability to interact with a diverse team within UXUS and within our clients’ network
  • Experience working on international projects
  • Ability to work with multiple types of clients and team disciplines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment within tight deadlines
  • Ability to source and curate experiential mood images to illustrate customer insights and experience principles is a significant plus
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Clients, Design and Project management team
  • Excellent communicator; able to bridge lines of communication at all l
