Job Description

Gorillas is shaping the future of on-demand retail from the ground up. In less than one year we have evolved from a single warehouse in Berlin to a growing global crew operating our hyperlocal model in 9 countries (with more on the way). Our rider crew makes magic happen on a daily, delivering groceries to your door in just 10 minutes.

Our DNA is rooted in a love for cycling and a desire to create change, and we’re proud to foster an environment where authenticity is celebrated and boldness is encouraged. True to our need for speed, in March 2021 we became Germany’s fastest-ever unicorn company with a $1bn valuation and 305m total funding raised. As one of Europe’s most talked-about startups, we are bringing true digital disruption to the supermarket space and seeking talented individuals to join us in building something extraordinary.

About the opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Group Product Manager with deep excitement for both customer-facing and in-house technology products. You will be responsible for leading a vertical inside our product ecosystem, reporting directly to our Head of Product and working closely with stakeholders across the entire organization to ensure your vertical has a clear product strategy and roadmap.

In your position as Group Product Manager at Gorillas you will have the unique opportunity to reshape how groceries are being purchased, packed, and delivered while managing the product managers inside the vertical you are responsible for. As an early joiner, you will be able to define how our cross-functional teams work together and build outstanding product development processes that will be the future of online grocery deliveries.

Your responsibilities

  • Take ownership of a product vertical inside the Gorillas product ecosystem.
  • Hire, manage and mentor product managers for your vertical.
  • Own the product strategy and roadmap of your vertical.
  • Be involved in quarterly planning, staying accountable for monitoring and improving your teams’ KPI.
  • Foster trust with your team members, stakeholders, and leadership team by ensuring constant proactive communication.
  • Support the growth of the product team by participating in the hiring process and by mentoring Product Managers in your vertical or in other areas.
  • Influence the company's direction and help shape the future of the product team.

  • Experience in creating product roadmap(s) from conception to launch, driving product vision, defining go-to-market strategy and leading design discussions.
  • An ability to self-direct and problem-solve in sophisticated, ambiguous, or constantly evolving environments while balancing multiple workstreams.
  • Familiarity with hypothesis-driven experimentation evaluating the effectiveness of releases.
  • You know how to get the data you need and translate it into actionable insights.
  • You have a strong bias for action with a hands-on mentality and stress-resistant attitude.
  • You are a great storyteller and are able to manage communication and collaboration between different stakeholders and drive decision-making on all levels.
  • You are resourceful, a self-starter and have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
