We’re looking for an entrepreneurial Area Manager to build the operational footprint for our B2B offering in cities in the Randstad region of the Netherlands.
You’ll apply your local knowledge and work with our central operations teams to build a fleet service that is loved by delivery companies. We’re setting up from scratch in The Netherlands so you’ll be exposed to a wide variety of tactical and strategic problems as we go on this exciting journey together. Specifically you will work closely with the VP of B2B and our central operations team. The job will be located in Amsterdam and requires traveling up to 50% of the time. You will spend significant time in our Warehouse located in Hoofddorp to be close to your team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing company and work on an early-stage product.What you'll do
  • You are responsible to run the operations of our B2B business in your area
  • Be a true leader to a large and diverse team of managers and ground staff (mechanics, drivers and warehouse workers)
  • Recruit amp; train your team members to ensure the best performance and spirit
  • Manage third party logistics partners (drivers and mechanics)
  • Monitor working hours and validate team schedules
  • Ensure that the teams have all the necessary tools at their disposal and carry out the appropriate corrective actions
  • Test your thinking in real market conditions, measure results, refine your operating model and repeat. Follow your Pamp;L
  • Regular reporting of operational data and financial metrics
  • Deep dive into operational details both in front of your computer and on the streets
  • Own maintenance and operations cost, as well as processes. Maximise the time our vehicles are available to our clients and ensure we keep an uptime above 90%
  • Work hand in hand with HQ in Amsterdam and your peers in other countries to translate your ideas into product changes that'll allow you to better serve your cities
What you'll need
  • 3-5+ years of experience in logistics, operations management, mobility, quick commerce or consulting. Start-up experience is a plus
  • Entrepreneurship mentality. Make decisions, learn from your experience and repeat
  • Passionate about improving our cities and delight our customers
  • Done is better than perfect. We need to move fast, but be mindful of our surroundings
  • Data based decision making. Be able to justify your decisions to your team and measure the results
  • Be hands-on and lead by example. Work directly with your staff on the ground. Be a true leader for our logistic operators and mechanics
  • Strong analytical/Excel skills
  • You have a good level of English. Dutch, French or German is a big plus.
