Job Description

Pearl Abyss the company behind the highly acclaimed MMORPG Black Desert Online (BDO) - is seeking a high-performing, innovative, results-oriented English speaking Community Manager for its European Publishing Office to accelerate growth and reach millions of players across all platforms (PC, Mobile, Console, etc.).

As an English Community Manager you will develop social media campaigns, and roll-out projects that support our company’s brand and align with marketing strategies. You will leverage deep game experience to strategically develop communities and nurture player engagement.

Upholding best practices and company standards, you will proactively interact with players both in-game and on social media platforms and provide our communities with engaging text, image and video content. On these platforms you will respond to comments and customer queries in a timely manner. Our Community Managers are highly visible ambassadors of our brand that know how to deepen overall player engagement, establishing fans not just of our game, but of our brand in general.

You will join a lean but dedicated team working across multiple communities, platforms, and games such as Black Desert, Shadow Arena, and upcoming releases such as Crimson Desert, DokeV and PLAN 8.


Responsibilities:

  • Design player-focused community and social media strategies and develop relationships with players through engaging communication
  • Manage and create engaging content on all platforms.
  • Manage communication plans and channels, striving for continuous improvement.
  • Provide meaningful feedback to game developing teams on the community's sentiment, concerns, and suggestions
  • Develop growth plans with pre-set Goals and KPIs and use these to gain insights on how to improve the service
  • For your designated territory, help build our content creator programs by recruiting and retaining talent. Help starting influencers grow their channels with content ideas, item giveaways, tournaments, and content reveals
  • Handle community facing localization tasks, such as patch note translations, social media activations and advertising
  • Support the marketing team in selecting channels for paid activations
  • Analyze and report on competitors' trends, whilst creating plans based on these analyses for implementation.

Requirements

  • Native level fluency in English
  • You have at least 1 year of experience as an influencer and/or community manager, preferably within the gaming industry
  • Avid fan of MMORPG games, preferably also Black Desert Online
  • You are well versed in utilizing Twitch, YouTube, Reddit, and social media channels and are not afraid of reaching out to their communities with pitches and activations
  • You preferably have a good network of content creators already, and you have dozens of ideas on how to help get them to where they need to be
  • You are used to working within multicultural teams and are a good communicator who can develop support for your plans amongst team members and higher management

Preferred Qualifications

  • You preferably have experience in making video content or live streaming and are not afraid of stepping into the spotlight.
  • Avid Black Desert Online player
  • Currently residing in the EU
  • Applicants with visas/nationalities allowing them to work within the EU
  • Passion for video games
  • Prior experience/interactions with gaming communities
