Role: Head of Project Management
Role Overview:
The Head of Projects is responsible for developing and directing all project management operations and strategic planning to meet organisational goals and the successful delivery of our client’s projects. Providing overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery.
This is a highly professional internally and external client facing role, delivering quality, large, complex and often challenging projects to enterprise clients in a global setting.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Lead, coach, train and mentor the project management team, improving performance and develop the team both professionally and personally
- Manage Project Management reporting cycle, including monthly project and project/programme review board reports
- Ensure project controls and governance are applied to all internal amp; external projects
- Manage the project portfolio to time, cost and quality, in line with clients’ requirements
- Ensure projects are secured and delivered on time and within the financial requirements and margins as specified
- Provide support to the bids, proposals and commercial teams
- Manage a diverse stakeholder community both internally and externally, up to main board level, be the authority on all PM related aspects
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to generate efficiencies and improve performance across the project delivery
- Coordinate with senior management to create processes and systems to ensure effective project management and implementation across the organisation.
- Direct the activities of the Project Management team and determine how team resources should be allocated across projects.
- Acting as Project Director, contributing to Project boards and being an escalation point to clients on their projects
Skills amp; Expectation
- Typically manages a large number of projects on the go at any one time
- Skills - Prince 2 , MS Project, type of projects, clients and environment, size and value of projects, seizes of team etc.
- Either experience in running PM teams or someone who has run large intel projects and is now looking to take a step up
- Prefer someone that have used project management tools, like MS Project or a PSA solution like Mavenlink
- Client facing projects for very large international retailer
- Manage International projects

Reports to:
Service Delivery Director
Interfaces with:
- PMO on standards and governance
- Service Delivery Managers on project delivery status and success
- Engage with sales on updates and chasing of bids and proposals
- Fellow members of the GA Service Delivery management team
- Escalate to ELT on resourcing issues and critical chain problems
