Job Description
High product quality is a crucial aspect in getting users to love our apps. Our apps should load almost instantly, be buttery-smooth, free from crashes and interruptions, and also use a minimum amount of resources. We have formed a new team to work hands-on to improve the quality of the main app, and we need Android expertise. With us you will get a unique opportunity to have a high impact and to improve the experience for all our 365 million users!What you'll do- Together with the team, shape a strategy to improve the product quality of the main app
- Improve observability, logging and crash reporting of the main app, to debug and attribute issues to the right team
- Find ways to observe things mentioned in negative reviews, to find where we can have the most impact
- Help teams to reduce their contribution to app size, to make the app as lightweight as possible
Who you are- You have several years of working experience as an Android engineer, if you have experience in other languages and platforms such as C++, Python, iOS, low level programming or productivity tools, that would be a bonus
- You have experience with XP, strong testing practices or CI/CD
- You are a solutions-oriented team player; you are flexible and ready to do what‘s best for your customers (in this case, the customers are other teams at Spotify)
- You have a strong quality mindset and care for the overall performance of the product
Where you'll be- We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!
- Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the EMEA region in which we have a work location and is within working hours
- Working hours? We operate within the Central European and GMT time zones for collaboration and ask that all be located that time zone
