About the team
The marketing team plays a vital role in the business development of MatchWornShirt and its ability to offer B2B and B2C customers the best possible experience. ‘Content is key’ is part of our company-wide strategy and we will constantly try to innovate and further develop the team and skillset.
As the business continues to evolve so rapidly, it’s important that our own brand does so simultaneously. We therefore want to find new ways to innovate, grow and maintain our own brand to reflect our position as the market leader. This will predominantly be focused around the marketing maximisation of our existing partnership portfolio, but will increasingly, also include the development of the MatchWornShirt brand as a standalone property.
As such, you will be responsible for the management, innovation and constant development of the marketing department, which consists of three sub-teams: (i) marketing amp; communications, (ii) video production and (iii) graphic design.
About you
For this role, you will directly report into the founders and work alongside talented junior managers that will look to you for guidance, vision and strategy. Once settled in the role, we will be looking to add you to the management team.
Your roles and responsibilities include:
- Developing international B2B and B2C marketing strategy, guidelines and protocols
- Brand protection and development, with a specific focus on growing our individual brand within the sporting network
- Managing a team of 20 FTE, out of which 8 report directly into you both numbers are expected to grow rapidly
- Looking after the well-being and personal development of team members
- Ensuring and enabling smooth cooperation between the marketing team and other teams within the company
- Maintaining a proper workflow and filing system for all team members
- Quality control of all content produced (written, visual, digital)
- Driving innovation and efficiency within the team (including documentation of process flows and redesign of processes, as necessary)
- Help develop new brands within the group, such as Frame The Game
- Recruitment in the capacity of hiring manager for the marketing team - in cooperation with the HR department
- Leading by example and being an ambassador of the company mission, vision and values
Requirements
- A good understanding of our business and the market in which we operate.
- Specific ideas about how you see a route to success for MatchWornShirt from a marketing perspective
- Excellent social skills (easy to talk to) to manage a highly motivated team with different cultural backgrounds, experience levels and personalities
- Pro-active and self-motivating mindset
- Can-do mentality. This may sound like a 'given', but it is an essential trait across our business. We always find a way to make it work
- Proven decision-making ability. You report directly into the founders, so a pro-active approach, problem-solving mentality and the ability to distinguish key issues is crucial
- Proven experience with advertising strategy and budgeting
- Proven experience in scaling a team and strategic team leadership
- Proven experience in working in fast-paced growth environment whilst maintaining proactive and pragmatic approach
- Native English speaker, other languages are a bonus
